My internship with the University of Alabama Soccer has been extremely rewarding, as I utilized the semester with a different program and gained new perspectives at the collegiate level. I could network with different people in the athletic department and around Tuscaloosa. My primary role as the Director of Soccer Operations intern is a lot of administrative work and player operations. I assisted with coordinating camp logistics, food orders for players and staff, and camp store merchandise.

Words of Wisdom

  • My advice for the culminating experience is to keep all your options open. At the point where you take the culminating experience class, you have to plan and make a schedule that you would be okay with having six months from then when you get assigned your culminating experience. Make sure your class load fits with the new plan and that you’re not saving all your harder classes for the last couple of semesters (especially if you’re on the internship track and need to pass to start your last semester on internship).
  • Lastly, I think having the ability to dabble in each experience makes you versatile and network with other people and different perspectives. Asking your classmates how their projects are going, what study abroad they’re signed up for, etc., unifies the experiences together and will be beneficial down the road.
